Exploring the possibility of building a spiritual community near Pune, India, Swami Kriyananda spoke in Pune and Mumbai in October. His Mumbai talk has been called one of his best ever; Kriyananda himself said that it was “of global importance.”

Beginning his 60th year of discipleship

With a packed auditorium of 400, Kriyananda celebrated 59 years, and the beginning of the 60th year, of discipleship to Paramhansa Yogananda.

Swami Kriyananda said that the talk at the book launch for Revelations of Christ was “probably the most important talk of my life.”

With the launch, Yogananda’s teachings on Christ are being shared in a highly accessible way for the first time, and finally have the potential to reach many people.

Swami Kriyananda was also presented with two awards: the Pioneer in Yoga Award, presented by the Los Angeles Yoga Fellowship, and the Beacon of Light Lifetime Achievement Award, given by the National Interfaith Council.

At the upcoming book launch for Revelations of Christ, the National Interfaith Council will give Swami Kriyananda the First Edition Lifetime Achievement Award.

Swami Kriyananda also recently received the Julius Caesar Medal from the government of Rome, as well as the Bridge Award, for his work in creating a cultural and spiritual bridge between the East and the West.
