Now living in Pune, Swami Kriyananda, though past 80 years of age, works harder than ever to establish his Guru’s work in India. In recent years, Swami Kriyananda completed The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita, a book based on Yogananda’s explanation of the Bhagavad Gita, as well as Revelations of Christ, which contains Yogananda’s explanations of Christ’s teachings.

Swami Kriyananda has had a tremendous impact in India. Within the first year of his arrival, his television show “The Way of Awakening” was being broadcast to an audience of millions. More recently, he has filmed hundreds of shows on the Bhagavad Gita, both for television and the internet. Frequently, when he goes out, strangers thank him for his program.

Kriyananda’s talks fill halls to overflowing – a response reminiscent of Yogananda’s first years in America! A talk he gave at Siri Fort in India, soon after his arrival there, drew 2,000 people.

Visitors describe his spiritual state as possessing a profound depth and magnetism. God’s joy seems to overflow from within him, touching all he meets.

All of this – in fact, everything he has ever achieved – he lays at the feet of his guru, Yogananda.

Recent Years

Over 60 years after he and his Guru first met, he is working harder than ever to help others find God.

From 2006 to 2010, he has traveled between India, Europe, and America, launching new books, giving talks, and serving truth-seekers in person and online.

As Kriyananda himself has said,

Acting as a channel for his Guru (in turn a perfect channel of God), he has inspired many souls, and will continue to inspire them far into the future.
