In recent years, Swami Kriyananda completed The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita, a book based on Yogananda’s explanation of the Bhagavad Gita, as well as Revelations of Christ, which contains Yogananda’s explanations of Christ’s teachings. Swami Kriyananda has had a tremendous impact in India. Within the first year of his arrival, his television show “The Way of Awakening” was being broadcast to an audience of millions. More recently, he has filmed hundreds of shows on the Bhagavad Gita, both for television and the internet. Frequently, when he goes out, strangers thank him for his program. Kriyananda’s talks fill halls to overflowing – a response reminiscent of Yogananda’s first years in America! A talk he gave at Siri Fort in India, soon after his arrival there, drew 2,000 people.
